Toni Hildebrandt

Toni Hildebrandt est coordinateur et postdoc du programme Sinergia du Fonds National Suisse « Mediating the Ecological Imperative » au département d’histoire de l’art moderne et contemporain de l’Université de Berne et à l’UNAM de Mexico. Il est docteur en histoire de l’art de l’Université de Bâle en 2014 avec une thèse qui a reçu le Wolfgang-Ratjen Award. Il a été chercheur invité à l’Université de Bâle, à la Haute école des arts de Berne, à l’Académie d’art et de design FHNW de Bâle et à l’Université de New York, il a été boursier à l’Istituto Svizzero de Rome (2013-2017), au Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte de Munich (2019) et au Walter Benjamin Kolleg (2020/21). Actuellement, il travaille à son deuxième livre sur la représentation des catastrophes nucléaires à travers l’art et le cinéma: (Post-)apocalyptic Imaginations. Representations of Nuclear Catastrophes in Art and Film since 1945.

Toni Hildebrandt is the Coordinator and an Advanced Postdoc at the SNSF Sinergia „Mediating the Ecological Imperative“ at the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art History at University of Bern and at UNAM Mexico City. He holds a PhD in Art History from University of Basel in 2014, for which he received the „Wolfgang-Ratjen award“. He was a guest lecturer at University of Basel, the University of the Arts in Bern, the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel and New York University, and he held fellowships at the Istituto Svizzero in Rome (2013-2017), the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte in Munich (2019) and the Walter Benjamin Kolleg (2020/21). Currently he is working on his second book on „(Post-)apocalyptic Imaginations. Representations of Nuclear Catastrophes in Art and Film since 1945“.
